CAR703 wins South Coast Classic
The recent South Coast Classic, a navigational rally run by the Classic Rally Club around Nowra and the Southern Highlands was run over the weekend of 15/16 May 2011. Competing in the Master's Category, the crew consisting of Jeff West and Geoff Bott took out the outright win with a "clean sheet" over the two days.
CAR703 to run in the 20th Targa Tasmania in 2011
We had hoped to run in 2010 in CAR635 but a few problems surfaced and we have decided to run CAR703 in 2011 in the 20th TargaTasmania. Our entry has already been lodged with the organisers. Unfortunately, the Classic Adelaide appears to have dissappeared from the sporting calendar - maybe for good so we reckon that we had best make the most of it and run in the Targa. In the meantime we are still soliciting donations for the OCF via our CAR703 fund
CAR703 – Video
Click on the video tab to pick up some real Targa action from the 2008 event. In ’08 CAR703 sported an all white livery which was transformed to Red/White for ’09. The first clip is the promotional video for the team prior to the 2009 Targa with footage from the ’08 event. The second clip is all 99 bends in the climb out of Queenstown on Tasmania’s west coast. It was tyre-squealing dry in ’08, streaming wet in ’09 – maybe in 2011 it will snow. Well it is Tasmania – four seasons in one day as the saying goes.

Childhood cancer is a cruel, indiscriminate killer – it strikes at children in the United States and the United Kingdom, in Singapore and China, in Australia and New Zealand – it doesn’t care, it strikes children anywhere in the world.
It is a parent’s worst nightmare
Research will find the cure. Hard working, dedicated researchers at Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney, Australia are at the forefront of the global research program. The Westmead Oncology Research Unit’s Cancer Gene Therapy Program is a breakthrough initiative undertaken by Australia’s leading cancer and gene therapy researchers. Trial results for the program to date have shown very positive results with the ORU team at Westmead preparing to commence human trials in 2008.
The Oncology Childrens Foundation, OCF, is an organisation that has been successful in raising and then providing the funding to the research program at Westmead. OCF provided A$2.1million last year and are the sole financial support for the Westmead Cancer Gene Therapy Program
When it comes, the cure will be as international as the disease. Australian researchers will not find a cure only for Aussie kids – the cure will be for kids in the USA, the UK, South Africa, New Zealand – research will find a cure for children everywhere See http://www.ocf.com.au
“30 years ago most children with cancer died, now 75% can be cured permanently. This dramatic improvement is the result of an increase in the amount of money being directed into research. The Oncology Children's Foundation (OCF) is a not-for-profit children’s charity dedicated to helping sick and critically ill children suffering from cancer, leukemia and other serious cancer related illnesses”.
